BATON ROUGE, La. (
Louisiana First) — Parts of the pedestrian bridges that provided access to the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino from the levee are underwater.
A spokesperson with the Belle of Baton Rouge confirmed that a buoy gave out, causing the structures to be overtaken due to high river levels and the rising water of the Mississippi River.
The walkways are no longer in use, officials added. The riverboat was removed in January.
No injuries were reported.
No further details were immediately available.
In March, the casino announced a rebrand after a merger and renovation. It was renamed after its parent company, Bally’s Corporation.
