He says when stopping at a convenience store during the trip, he noticed the Ultimate Diamond Jackpot game had a high prize amount.
“I decided to try my luck and bought a ticket,” he said. “When I got back to the hotel and checked it, I saw that I’d won the jackpot. It was a moment of shock and awe, and I completely froze.”
The ticket was bought at Komal Wine and Liquors, located at 4628 N. Cumberland Avenue in Chicago. The grand total was $3,188,104.
For selling the winning ticket, the convenience store will receive a one percent bonus of the prize amount, which is just over $31,000.
