Holy Cross alum heading to Green Bay, Packers draft Barryn Sorrell in fourth round
GREEN BAY (WGNO) – The Green Bay Packers drafted Holy Cross alum Barryn Sorrell with their 22nd pick in the fourth round (124th overall), during the 2025 NFL Draft.
Sorrell became the second player from Louisiana the Packers drated in consecutive years. Green Bay took Covington alum Edgerrin Cooper in the second round of last year’s draft.
The former Longhorn edge rusher finished his final year in the Burnt Orange with 44 total tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, six sacks and 12 quarterback hits.

Sorrell played four years with the University of Texas and reached the College Football Playoff Semifinal round twice: including a matchup in New Orleans against the Washington Huskies, during the 2024 Allstate Sugar Bowl.
