Woman charged after 66-year-old killed in West Town hit-and-run

CHICAGO — A woman is facing multiple charges after a 66-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run in January.

Iryna Kalach, 39, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in injury/death and failure to render aid.

She was also cited with operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failing to exercise due care and failure to yield to a pedestrian.

Kalach is accused of killing Halyna Hudzan, 66, in the 700 block of North Oakley Boulevard on the morning of Jan. 24 in a hit-and-run.

Her detention hearing is scheduled for Friday.
