Wayne Fire: 2 families displaced after house fire spreads to neighboring residences

INDIANAPOLIS — Two families were displaced after a house fire spread to two other homes early Friday morning.

According to the Wayne Township Fire Department, around 3:11 a.m. crews were dispatched to the 9000 block of Venona Way on a report of a house on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters located a fire that started at one home and spread to two others.

The Speedway Fire Department, Brownsburg Fire Department and Avon Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly.

WTFD states that all three families were affected by the fire with two families being displaced.

Two people suffered minor injuries, with one person being taken to the hospital for evaluation and the other person treated at the scene.

The cause remains under investigation.
