HAZLETON – One person was injured in a shooting at a park here Thursday afternoon and police are investigating.
Hazleton Police were called to the Beech Street Playground around 5:30pm for a report of shots fired and people screaming. This occurred near the basketball courts at the park.
When police arrived, they were told the victim had been taken to the hospital by private vehicle. There, they were treated for non-life threatening injuries and released.
Anyone who lives in the area is asked to check their home security cameras for anything that could be connected to the shooting.
