‘Give for Good’ challenge: what is it, how to join?

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — North Louisiana’s largest day of philanthropy returns on Tuesday, May 6, featuring 232 organizations participating in the Give for Good day.

Give for Good is currently welcoming early donations, organized by the Community Foundation of North Louisiana (CFNLA). This year, they aim to uplift the community by reaching their goal of $3 million.

Their online platform provides each nonprofit with a customized giving page, where the organization can share its mission, programs, needs, and volunteer opportunities, according to Give for Good. Donors can easily browse, search, and filter participating organizations by sector or location.

“We are proud to sponsor Give For Good in our community for the 12th year,” says CFNLA CEO Kristi Gustavson. “Give For Good day is always exciting and energizing as we watch the donation total grow and hear from our local nonprofit organizations about the programs and the people who will benefit from this community support. Every year, I am amazed at and humbled by the generosity and civic spirit illustrated through Give For Good.”

CFNLA says, donors can also contribute to the ‘Lagniappe Fund‘, a bonus pool of over $200,000 that boosts donations made to participating nonprofits on a pro-rata basis. Participating nonprofits are also eligible to win special Give For Good prizes throughout the giving event.

To find local businesses hosting events, visit their “Community Events” tab on their website.
