Court documents show that Elizabeth Baker, 30, told the police that she was trying to park and accidentally wrecked her vehicle. During her interview, officials noticed she smelled strongly of alcohol. An officer confirmed they saw what was later confirmed as a 2-year-old standing in the seat with only a diaper on.

In an arrest citation, the police noted that Baker reportedly failed numerous field sobriety tests and refused to take a breathalyzer test.

She reportedly told the police she went out and drank the night before. The toddler’s father later arrived at the scene to pick them up.

Baker was lodged in the Floyd County Detention Center and charged with driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Court records show that 10% of her $2,500 bond was paid, and her trial is due to start at 9:30 a.m. on June 17.
