The 23rd annual First Security Cotter Trout Festival kicks off May 3 at Big Spring Park. The event will run from 10 to 6 and feature an expanded layout.
The festival will begin with a parade, followed by a full day of events including food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, exhibits, a kids fishing derby, a craft beer garden, a duck race, raffle drawings and more. In addition, live music will be performed throughout the day with acts such as the Leslie Williams Band, FlipSiDe Band and the Jerry Hopper Band.
Jason Nazarenko says this event is when Cotter starts to see an uptick in trout fishermen.
