Back in January 2024, Walmart announced plans to invest in the remodeling of 650 store locations across 47 states and Puerto Rico. A move which they said would create tens of thousands of jobs to support these projects.
Earlier today, the grocery giant shared that here in Pennsylvania, 26 store locations will be undergoing a remodel this year.
“Our stores often serve as the heartbeat of the communities we operate in, and these remodels are a testament to our dedication to enhancing that role,” Annie Walker, Senior Vice President, East Business Unit at Walmart said. “By investing in our stores and associates, we are not only improving the shopping experience but also reinforcing our commitment to being a vital part of the community’s fabric, helping to build a brighter future for all.”

According to Walmart, these updates to the stores will include a new look with bold signage and new displays, expanded departments, and the expansion of their online pickup and delivery to fulfill a growing number of online customer orders.

Currently, Walmart employs over 59,0777 associates in Pennsylvania across 159 retail stores and 10 supply chain facilities.
