New Orleans man arrested, accused of stealing three motorcycles from Gonzales

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — One man was arrested after being accused of stealing motorcycles in Gonzales.

According to the Gonzales Police Department, detectives began investigating three separate thefts of high-end motorcycles, starting on April 16 from an apartment complex in Gonzales.

During the investigation, detectives identified a suspect and a suspect vehicle, both connected to an address in New Orleans. GPD and the Louisiana State Police found the suspect vehicle that was believed to be used in the theft.

Authorities conducted a search of a home on North Galvez Street, which resulted in the recovery of one stolen motorcycle. A second stolen motorcycle was recovered after a search was conducted on Werner Drive.

LSP arrested David Williams, 28, of New Orleans, on illegal possession of stolen things and was booked into the Orleans Parish Corrections Center. Williams will be extradited to Ascension Parish for booking on three counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

This case demonstrates the power of collaboration between local and state law enforcement,” said GPD Chief Sherman Jackson. “Thanks to the persistence of our detectives and the support of Louisiana State Police, we were able to recover stolen property and bring accountability across parish lines. Our department remains committed to protecting our community and following every lead — wherever it may take us.
