Earlier this evening fire officials responded to a structure fire at the Ile des Cannes Apartment Complex, located in the 100 block of Natchez Street. When they arrived, officials observed smoke emitting from a second-story apartment.
Officials said when they entered the apartment, they found the fire in a second-story bedroom. Officials quickly put out the fire before it could spread throughout the apartment.
Officials said the bedroom sustained moderate fire damage, while the remainder of the apartment was primarily affected by smoke. There were no injuries reported in this incident.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
