First, it was mascot Swoop, then the drumline, then the cheerleaders, but the real surprise was running back Saquon Barkley. He joined the students to share what he learned by winning a Super Bowl with the Eagles.
Milton Hershey’s school motto for the year is “it is a raise the bar day,” and that message perfect for Barkley who elevated his game this year.
“How can I take it to another level, I’ve had some success before, but didn’t accomplish the things what I wanted to accomplish,” Barkley said. “And I feel like coming to Philadelphia, H had the opportunity to expand on my career, my legacy. I kind of just bought in, kind of forgot everything I did in the past. Coming to a new spot and buying everything they say, cause I’ve been going against them for the last six years or so, and they have been a really good team and have a lot of great players. I think the reason I was able to have the level of play I had this year is cause I completely let my guard down, trusted my teammates, and just trust in the system.”
Barkley had a career high 2,005 yards rushing this past season with the Eagles.
