Bomb Squad crowned championship division winners in Houston

Members of the Mountain Home Bomb Squad FRC Team 16 have a lot to be proud of as they returned Sunday after being crowned championship division winners at the FIRST Championship in Houston.

The culminating, international event for the youth robotics competition season saw 600 teams battling to see which groups robot was the top in the world. Robots had to compete in multiple obstacle style rounds with the Bomb Squad’s bot being able to extend upwards of 9 ft. at a overall weight of 100 lbs.

The strong build of the Bombers robot gave the team a ranking of 51 overall and they where chosen as the second pick in the division championships in the Galileo Division where they finished with a record of 8-6-0. The Bomb Squad was finally eliminated on Saturday afternoon in the third round of the double elimination round in the Einstein field with a record of 1-1-0.
