81-year-old woman dead after South Side crash

CHICAGO — An 81-year-old woman died after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night on the South Side.

Just after 9:45 p.m., a gray SVU, driven by a 26-year-old man, was traveling southbound in the 11000 block of South Halsted when it struck a blue sedan traveling eastbouind.

The driver of the sedan, an 81-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at Christ Hospital.

Two other occupants, a 51-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman, were transported in good condition.

The driver of the SVU was transported in good condition.

No one was cited and detectives said they are investigating.
