According to deputies, the horses broke loose on Saturday near West Corning Road in Peotone Township.
Authorities did not provide details on how the horses broke loose, but in an update shared around 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, deputies said while several of the horses had been captured, several others remained on the loose, days after breaking free.
While deputies did ask for help tracking the lost horses, they warned residents not to chase the animals.
“If you see these horses DO NOT CHASE them,” deputies said in a Facebook post asking for help in the search.
Deputies warned the public that the horses may have already left Peotone Township, as they broke loose days prior.
“It should be noted that these horses can and will travel several miles in a day and may have moved out of the immediate area,” deputies said.
Deputies said they have contacted HHH Ranch for help in their capture and ask anyone with information on the location of the horses, to contact the ranch at (708) 689-9889.
