Gonzaga got out to an early 3-0 lead scoring two runs in the 1st inning and one in the 4th. The Beavs got on the board in the bottom of the 4th when Canon Reeder grounded out to second base and Gavin Turley scored. Then, Dawson Santana singled to the right side and AJ Singer scored, making it 3-2.
The excitement came in the 6th for Oregon State when Aiva Arquette singled to right field allowing both Dawson Santana and Tyne Peterson to score, taking their first lead of the game at 4-3. Immediately following that play, the big blow was Gavin Turley’s 3-run homer that lifted the Beavers to a 7-3 lead.
Coming up, the Beavers will travel to the University of Oregon for a three-game series that opens Friday in Eugene. They will then return to Goss Stadium on April 29 for another matchup with Ducks which will air live on Portland’s CW, and online at KOIN.com and the KOIN+ app.
