Officials said Demond Marquise Tenner, 22, of Baton Rouge was taken into custody today for his role in a violent shooting incident that left multiple people injured and included children in the line of fire.
Officials said Tenner was involved in the Rayne shooting incident that occurred Sunday evening where two people were shot in the head, inside a white Ford Explorer, but survived and managed to drive themselves to a police station.
Tenner was arrested in Baton Rouge and is being transported by Rayne Police Department to an Acadia Parish jail on charges of four counts of attempted first-degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property and reckless and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.
Officials said Tenner will be held on a $700,000 bond.
Authorities are also searching for Tenner’s brother-in-law, Courtney Kendell Rogers Jr., 26, of Baton Rouge, who is currently wanted for the same offenses. Officials said Rogers is accused of actively participating in the shooting and recklessly firing a weapon in the presence of innocent bystanders, including children.
Officials are urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Rogers to contact 911 immediately.
