Diocese of Lafayette hosts Mass in honor of Pope Francis on Sunday

LAFAYETTE, La (KLFY) — A mass will be held in memory of Pope Francis on Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelists in Lafayette.

Pope Francis, who had died earlier this week, was history’s first Latin American pontiff who charmed the world with his humble style and concern for the poor, died at 88.

Bishop Douglas Deshotel invites others to join the Divine Mercy Sunday where they will honor Pope Francis’s contributions to the Catholic Church and impact on the world and God’s love and forgiveness.
