Beginning May 12, Addison Street will be down to one lane over the Kennedy Expressway for bridge work.
Various lane shifts on each side on the bridge are also expected throughout construction, IDOT said.
“Throughout construction, the outbound and inbound Kennedy ramps to eastbound and westbound Addison Street will be right turn only. Additionally, left turns from eastbound Addison Street to the outbound Kennedy ramp will be prohibited. Also, trucks will not be allowed to use the inbound Kennedy ramp to Addison Street,” IDOT said.
The CTA Blue Line station at Addison will remain open during construction.
It is unknown how long this project will take.
Note: IDOT issued an update Tuesday with the start date. Initially IDOT said it would begin May 1. IDOT also initial said the bridge would be closed.
