Suspect in custody following Owensboro shooting

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) — An investigation is underway following a shooting in Owensboro.

According to the Owensboro Police Department, this happened in the 1000 block of Gardenside Drive and that one person was shot.

Officers say the victim was found in the 2700 block of Flamingo Avenue with a gunshot wound to their abdomen and leg. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

We’re told witnesses on the scene identified 22-year-old Noah Sheriff as the shooter, who allegedly ran from officers before getting arrested. Officers say evidence of drug trafficking was taken from Sheriff during arrest.

Sheriff was booked in the Daviess County Detention Center on the following charges:

Police believe this to be an isolated incident.
