St. Gabriel police investigate shooting that left one hurt
BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The St. Gabriel Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person injured in the 5800 block of Martin Luther King Parkway on Friday, April 18.
Officers responded to the area around 2 p.m. and found a victim with an apparent abdominal wound. Initially, authorities believed the injury may have been caused by debris from a passing vehicle. However, after the victim was taken to a nearby hospital, medical staff confirmed the wound was caused by a projectile from a firearm.
As of Monday, the victim remains under medical care.
At this time, no suspects or a motive have been identified. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
