It’s also National Work Zone Awareness Week. “Flagger Force” is a short-term traffic control provider headquartered in Dauphin County. They say work zone safety depends upon drivers.
“The national campaign slogan this year is ‘Respect the zone so we can all go home,'” said Luke Lazar, the Vice President of Risk and Safety at Flagger Force. “What we asked the motorist to do are those four things that I identified: ‘Pay attention, stay alert, slow down, move over, and eliminate distractions.'”
In work zones with speed enforcement cameras, the first violation is a written warning. The second is a $75 fine, and additional violations cost an additional $150.
