In the coming weeks the residents of Baxter County will have a brand new health unit as construction crews work on wrapping up the project.
The new facility located at the corner of West Road and Buttercup Drive is currently scheduled to be completed in the first week of May according to Baxter County Judge Kevin Litty. The project, which has been a cornerstone to Litty’s first term as county judge, is moving along according to schedule with only a few slight delays. Litty says office furniture should be making its way into the building near the end of May.
Workers finish up sidewalks Friday afternoon
On Friday crews were busy pouring concrete forms for sidewalks, curbs and a pavilion in the back that will house outdoor seating as well as a backup power generator. Litty says once concrete work is finished the parking lot is next for outdoor work. Inside crews are busy finishing drywall, painting and installing fixtures.
The new facility will replace the current health unit on Burcher Drive providing county residents with expanded access to the services the county provides.
