The San Francisco Police Department held a checkpoint near Larkin Street, according to an image provided by the department. Police said officers contacted 373 vehicles.
Prior to the checkpoint, the San Francisco Police Chief William Scott explained the goal of the checkpoint. “The safety of our community is and always will be our mission,” Scott said. “We are looking for impaired drivers because driving under the influence is dangerous and puts others on the road at risk.”
Drivers who are caught driving impaired can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to include jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes, and other expenses that can exceed $10,000, according to SFPD.
