Easter fire: Shreveport residents saved by house smoke alarm

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – On Sunday at 8:49 a.m. Shreveport Fire Department were called to a house fire in the 700 block of Neal Drive.

SFD said a unit arrived within four minutes and reported smoke coming from the roofline of the single-story home. They said it took seven units, comprised of 22 firefighters to bring the fire under control at 9:10 a.m.

The residents were alerted by the properly functioning smoke alarm and were able to escape unharmed said SFD.

The origin and the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Shreveport Fire Arson Investigators.
