WAGENER, S.C. (WJBF) — The Wagener Fire District Board has called an emergency meeting for 6 p.m. Monday.
The Board Chairman says he met with Mayor Mike Miller on Friday. He’s offering to lease the building and equipment, keeping District 16 together under a county contract.
He’s asking the mayor and councilmen George Smith and Randy Kitchings to show up and make a deal.
The fire department says they’ve had no talks with town leaders. They don’t know what’s holding things up.
The county’s deadline is 5 p.m. Tuesday. Fire officials say they’ve done all they can. Now, it’s up to the town.
