(KRON) – Three pounds of marijuana and bottles of prescription-grade promethazine were found in a traffic stop last week, according to the Vallejo Police Department.

Vallejo police officers said they noticed a gray Kia Forte with illegal front window tint near Fairgrounds Drive and Corcoran Avenue on April 13.

Officers pulled over the sedan and contacted the juvenile driver and adult passenger. Police said the driver did not have a valid driver’s license. Officers detained the minor and asked the passenger to exit the vehicle to search the car.

The search yielded approximately three pounds of marijuana, several bottles of prescription-grade promethazine, two digital scales, numerous clear plastic baggies and more than $3,000 in cash. All of the items were in two backpacks in the trunk, police said.

The driver was arrested and booked into the Solano County Jail for possession of narcotics for sale. The minor was cited and released to a parent.

The department said it has begun an investigation into both subjects.

The Kia was towed.
