Man arrested in connection to 2016 cold case in Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Jackson police arrested a man in connection to a 2016 cold case.

Calvin Jermaine Horton, 48, is accused of killing Tyshun Robinson in November 2016. He was also charged with shooting into an occupied home and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

During his initial court appearance on Friday, April 18, Horton was denied bond.

Jackson police said Robinson was driving on Belvedere Drive in 2016 when his car went off the road, hit a tree and caught fire. A passerby pulled the 21-year-old out of the burning car. Police discovered that Robinson had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced deceased at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC).
