Carmel Marathon canceled due to storms

CARMEL, Ind. – Organizers with the Carmel Marathon have canceled the annual race due to annual race due to the weather.

In a press release, race officials made the decision to cancel the annual event due to heavy thunderstorms effecting much of the area Saturday morning.

“The safety of our runners, volunteers, community partners and staff is our top priority”, race officials said. “We can not risk having runners and volunteers out on course during either of those time periods, with no way to ensure that everyone can safely seek shelter if the need arises.”

Race officials are working to explore all options, including rescheduling the race for another weekend.
