CHICAGO (WGN) — Chicago police on Thursday announced an arrest and charges in the fatal stabbing of a 61-year-old man last October in the city’s South Shore neighborhood.

Catherine Perry faces one felony count of first-degree murder and another for aggravated attempted arson.

Authorities identified the 34-year-old as the alleged offender who stabbed and killed the male victim in the 7100 block of S. East End Ave. on Monday, Oct. 14.

According to Chicago police, officers arrested Perry on Tuesday, April 15.

Perry is due in court Friday for an initial detention hearing.
