
CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A 15-year-old student at Captain Shreve High School was arrested for allegedly possessing a handgun.
The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) said they received a tip from an assistant principal concerning a student seen with a weapon on campus. The student was located without incident, and a handgun was allegedly found in their possession.
Police said the student was arrested and taken into the CPSO Detectives’ office, where the student’s legal guardian was present while they were read their Miranda rights. The student was transferred to the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center, where they face charges of illegal possession of a firearm in a gun-free zone and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
