According to the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office, patrol deputies took a walk-in complaint April 15 at the Tioga Substation regarding an alleged assault that occurred near the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 North and Louisiana Highway 3225 (Shreveport Highway). The victim reported that an older white male, driving an older model tan Chevrolet truck, allegedly brandished and pointed a firearm at them during the incident.
Deputies took the initial report and searched for the vehicle but were unable to locate it. The case was then assigned to Sheriff’s Detectives from the Tioga Substation for further investigation.
Detectives interviewed the victim and obtained photos of the suspect’s vehicle. Through their investigation, they identified the suspect as Robert Dale Allen, 66, of Montgomery, Louisiana.
Detectives located Allen and, based on their findings, established probable cause for an arrest warrant on charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated assault.
Allen was taken into custody without incident on April 16 and transported to the Rapides Parish Detention Center, where he was booked on the charges. Authorities said the firearm allegedly used in the incident was recovered during the arrest. Allen was released the following day on a $6,000 bond.
