Crescent City Classic meets max participant capacity

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Two days ahead of the 47th Annual LCMC Health Crescent City Classic, race officials announced the event has sold out.

Officials stated Friday, April 18, the annual Easter weekend race hit its 18,000 participant capacity.

“We are excited to have officially hit our maximum number of participants for the first time ever,” said Crescent City Classic Race Director Eric Stuart. “We’re currently experiencing a 25% increase for this year’s race so it will be one of our largest races ever with 18,000 runners and walkers.”

All 18,000 runners and walkers will line up at the starting line at 8 a.m. to take on the “picturesque” route. It starts at the Caesars Superdome, goes through Downtown and the French Quarter, up Esplanade Avenue and ends at the New Orleans Museum of Art in City Park.

Following the rave will be the Michelob Ultra RaceFest for the runners to enjoy cold drinks, hot food and live music.

Those who did not run but want to attend the fest can purchase $20 to $25 tickets on race day. Children under 5 years old are free.
