Where Y’at this Weekend: Boomtown Casino, Halloween Dance-off, Gospel Brunch, Easter Parade

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Happy Good Friday, Happy Passover and Happy Easter. It’s the time of year for crawfish boils and outdoor get-togethers with friends and family. This weekend features a savory gospel-themed brunch, a dance-off featuring twirling Carnival krewes and parades starring beautiful hats and the Easter bunny: here are Where Y’at’s picks!
  • First, Thursday, April 17 and every Thursday evening, get your girlfriends together at Boomtown Casino’s NOLA Steak restaurant for an exciting Ladies Night. Enjoy $3 cocktails and a special Ladies Night raffle while enjoying live music in the restaurant’s upscale and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Next, the free Halfway to Halloween Dance-Off presented by the Krewe of BOO is Saturday afternoon, April 19, at Spanish Plaza. Featuring new routines performed by Carnival dance krewes, the dance-off starts at 2 p.m. and is family-friendly, with celebrity judges, giveaways and more.
  • Looking for an Easter brunch that includes praise dancing? Then experience soulful sounds with a delicious buffet at the House of Blues’ Gospel Brunch. On Sunday, April 20, the Heartbeats of Praise Gospel Choir will perform, and all ages are welcomed to this special event of uplifting music and flavorful breakfast cuisine.
  • Finally, celebrate Easter Sunday with vibrant parades featuring colorful floats and fun for the entire family. The festivities kick off at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, with Easter throws and more at the Historic French Quarter Easter Parade. Then, the 40th anniversary French Quarter Easter Parade rolls at 1 p.m., followed by the Gay Easter Parade at 4.
