Rockford teen charged with delivering cannabis after traffic stop
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested David Rivera-Montes, 18, for delivering cannabis during a traffic stop, according to court records.

On April 16, around 8:20 p.m., officers were patrolling in the area of 7th Street and 5th Avenue when they saw a silver Honda pickup truck that ran a stop sign.

Authorities immediately smelled raw cannabis when they approached the vehicle, court documents show.

Police searched the vehicle as well as the suspect and found cannabis, a scale, rubber bands, ziploc baggies, cash along with three cell phones.

Rivera-Montes is charged with manufacturing and delivering cannabis.

He was granted pretrial release on April 17th.
