Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is sometimes a man of few words, but often times those words can be very influential. For example, during his first trip to the Super Bowl during the 2017 season, Hurts stated to the media, “I had a purpose before everybody had an opinion”. Some would call him a motivational quoting machine, so it’s not surprising that he was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people of 2025. Hurts has led the Eagles to multiple Super Bowl trips in recent years, proving that he can be the leader that his teams need to reach the ultimate goal of holding the Lombardi Trophy and now being the Super Bowl 59 MVP, he’s left no doubt about his leadership abilities.
Although great on the field hurts has also had a great impact off the field. Back in February, the 26-year-old superstar was named Philadelphia’s Citizen of the Year. Hurts has done his fair share of work in Philly, giving back to the youth and the community, including making a major donation to the school district of Philadelphia to help schools in the city get air conditioning units through his to help students and staff stay at school during the warmer months.
Five-time World Series champion and MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter, who wrote the profile for Hurts, stated “We connected shortly after, and the only thing he asked about was insight on going back and winning again. Sometimes people win, then exhale. Jalen is not exhaling. He’s embracing the next challenge. Win or lose, Jalen’s resilience and determination offer all of us something to admire.”
