Merced man arrested after 3 calves stolen in Madera County

MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Merced man was arrested after allegedly stealing calves from a Madera County farm Wednesday, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies say they were dispatched to the 19000 block of Road 1 in Madera County after receiving a report of three newborn black Angus beef calves that were stolen.

Investigators report they were able to identify the suspect and eventually located and arrested 39-year-old Efrain Gonzalez of Merced.

The sheriff’s office says Gonzalez was eventually booked on suspicion of felony charges of grand theft.
