JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) — A Rock County jury has found Cody Markham, 27, guilty of incest and repeated sexual assault of a child.

An investigation into Markham began on June 8th, 2024, according to Rock County District Attorney Jason Sanders.

“No child should ever have to endure what this brave little girl went through,” Assistant District Attorney Margaret Ginocchio said, “and this case serves as a painful reminder of the harm that can happen behind closed doors — but also of the strength that can emerge in the face of such darkness. Our community is a safer place now that this predator has been held accountable for his heinous actions.”

Markham faces up to 72 and a half years in prison at his sentencing hearing on July 18th.

Markham’s father, 57-year-old Spencer Markham, was found guilty of three counts of Repeated Sexual Assault in connection with the case.

His mother, Kelly Markham, 53, was sentenced to 20 years on the charge of second-degree sexual assault of a child.

Assistant District Attorney Alex Goulart called the Markham home a “house of horrors” in his argument for a maximum sentence for Kelly Markham, at sentencing hearing.
