JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Troopers with the Louisiana State Police are investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a crash in Jefferson Parish on Thursday, April 17.
The LSP reported that the crash happened on the upper level of US 90B near Stumpf Boulevard around 5 a.m.
LSP officials said an initial investigation shows that 24-year-old Shamond Jacobs was hit by a Chevrolet Silverado while walking in the eastbound lanes of US 90B.
Jacobs was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.
According to the LSP, Jacobs “was wearing dark clothing” at the time of the crash.
The investigation is ongoing, and routine toxicology samples were collected.
