BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The inaugural Bloomington Bluegrass Fest is set to bring a full day of music to Upland Brewing Co. on Saturday, May 3. The event will run from 3 to 11 p.m. at Upland’s location on 350 W. 11th St., featuring eight acts over eight hours for just $20 in advance.
Gates will open at 2 p.m., with the music kicking off at 3 p.m. Jan Bell will open the festival, followed by sets from the Rusted String Swindlers, Chris Dollar & Pat Otto, The Hammer & The Hatchet, Low Landers, Booze Hounds Bluegrass, and Arianna and The Bourbon Britches. Louisville-based Mama Said String Band will close out the night with a headline set from 9:45 to 11 p.m.
Corey Flick will also appear throughout the day as the festival’s featured artist-at-large, adding harmonica to various sets.
Organizers say the event is aimed at creating a lively, family-friendly atmosphere combining top regional bluegrass talent with local food and craft beer. Tickets are available now via Eventbrite.
