Bloomingfoods to Celebrate Earth Day and Fair Trade Day with 2025 EarthFest

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Bloomingfoods Co-op Market will host its annual EarthFest celebration from Tuesday, April 22 through Saturday, May 10, featuring giveaways, discounts, educational events, and community partnerships to honor Earth Day and World Fair Trade Day.

The multi-week celebration kicks off on Earth Day, April 22, with a vintage clothing pop-up by HoosierA1Vintage at the Near West location, as well as environmental education activities at both store locations. Customers can take advantage of a 20% discount on bulk items when bringing their own reusable containers on April 22 and 23, and earn double Bloomingfoods for Earth reward stamps on Earth Day.

Bloomingfoods is also holding a giveaway for a new bicycle and a large Fair Trade gift basket filled with local, sustainable, and ethically sourced products.

Additional events include:

• Saturday, April 26: Native Tree Giveaway at both the East and Near West stores in partnership with Sycamore Land Trust.
• Friday, May 2: Free screening of The Need to GROW at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, followed by a Q&A with the film’s director.
• Saturday, May 3: Local Farm Tour at Poole Mill Produce, offering an inside look at sustainable hydroponic farming.
• Saturday, May 10 (Fair Trade Day): Spring Plant Sale at Bloomingfoods East with Sycamore Land Trust, sunflower seed planting for Mother’s Day, and free minor bike repairs from Revolution Bike & Bean at the Near West store. Customers will also receive 20% off all Fair Trade items.
