According to a news release, Gov. Mike Braun recalled around 50 members of the Indiana National Guard after praising their efforts to bolster the nation’s southern border as part of Operation Lone Star.
“We are proud to welcome home these brave Hoosier Guardsmen and thank them for their service during this successful mission,” said Gov. Braun. “Under the leadership of President Trump, well-managed border security is a priority and that enables these Guardsmen to return home.”
The Hoosier Guardsmen were initially deployed to Texas in April 2024
The Hoosier Guardsmen are set to return to Indiana within the next two months, where they will demobilize.
