Horhn had the most votes on the April 1 primary, followed by Lumumba.
“In the primary, 83% of the folks who came out to vote voted their conscience and said they wanted change,” Horhn said.
Lumumba is not backing down from the challenge.
“My thoughts after the primary results is that we weren’t supposed to be here, right? There’s been every effort in order to dissuade residents, in order to promote a narrative about who I am, which is counterintuitive to the person that residents know me to be,” the mayor said.
Lumumba said voters know his record.
“There’s a lot at stake. A narrative is being pushed by someone who’s promising change, but their 30-year record doesn’t show it,” he said.
Horhn said voters want something different for the capital city.
“There are too many rumors about corruption, too much dysfunction in city government. People are tired of how the city looks,” he said.
Voters will decide who will move on to the General Election on June 3.
