One dead, another injured, three arrested in Roseland shooting

ROSELAND, La. (WGNO) — Three people have been arrested after a Roseland shooting left one man dead and another injured in the early morning hours of Wednesday, April 16.

According to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call reported the shooting, which happened in the 63000 block of Commercial Street, just after midnight. On scene, two men, a 17-year-old and an 18-year-old, were found having been shot.

TPSO officials say the 18-year-old was pronounced dead on scene, while the 17-year-old was taken to a local hospital for treatment and later released. The 18-year-old’s identity is withheld until his family can be notified.

Investigators identified 21-year-old Keydrann Tate, of Independence, 19-year-old Javion Kidd, of Fluker, and a 16-year-old male from Independence as suspects in the investigation.

They were all arrested, with Tate turning himself in and the others being found while arriving at school prior to their classes. They each face charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and armed robbery.

TPSO officials said incident is believed to have occurred due to a gun transaction among the group. No other suspects are expected; however, the investigation remains ongoing.
