TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Lindsay couple was arrested after a baby tested positive for cocaine Tuesday morning, the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office announced.

Deputies say they were called to the local hospital around 5 a.m., where the infant tested positive for cocaine.

Investigators report the couple from Lindsay originally brought the nine-month-old to the ER for a high fever. However, after several tests were conducted, medical officials received a positive result for cocaine and notified authorities.

Deputies say a search warrant was served at the couple’s home, and narcotics were found. As a result, 29-year-old Ashley Flores and 32-year-old Casey Willibanks were arrested on suspicion of child endangerment and illicit narcotics.
