CHICAGO — A Chicago man accused of injuring another man in a shooting on the South Side last month is now facing a felony charge.
Chicago police say 30-year-old Zhames Robinson has been charged with one felony count of aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon.
The charge stems from Robinson’s alleged role in a shooting that left a 46-year-old man seriously injured on Monday, March 10, in the 7800 block of South Evans Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing.
According to police, the gunfire erupted just before 10:30 a.m. while the victim was outside in the area.

Officers said Robinson allegedly approached the victim and opened fire, hitting him in the left thigh.
The victim was later taken to the hospital in fair condition, though an updated news release shared by police on Wednesday indicated that the victim was seriously injured in the incident.
Following the shooting, Robinson allegedly fled the scene, but he was taken into custody by members of CPD’s Area Two Homicide Investigative Support Team on Tuesday.
Robinson appeared in court for a detention hearing on Wednesday.
