The event will feature interactive games and activities that explore various concepts of early literacy. This is part of the library initiative to help children develop early literacy skills through simple daily activities that families can do together. It also gets children ready to read through talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.
Family Literacy Night is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the West Shreveport Branch of the library. The first 100 participants will receive a boxed dinner from Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. There will also be special raffle prize drawings throughout the evening. This event is free and open to the public.
