A 17-year-old was pronounced dead at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene following a shooting on CR 306 in Hamby, according to the Jones County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office states 9-1-1 received a call around 8:20 p.m. that he had been shot, and CPR was in progress. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
“All the parties at the scene, including the shooter, were on scene and cooperating with the investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office States.
The shooter has not been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made at this time. The 17-year-old’s body has been sent to Lubbock for an autopsy as the investigation continues.
