Drunk woman driving over 100 mph sentenced after fatal crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The woman who caused a fatal crash on NE Marine Drive last year was sentenced to six years in prison by a Multnomah County judge on Monday.

Maria Moncada, 23, was intoxicated and driving over 100 mph when she struck a parked vehicle on Feb. 23, 2024.

The 75-year-old woman, Bonny J. Heyn, 75, who was in the parked car, was found dead at the scene.

Additionally, Moncada will serve three years of post-prison supervision.
